About the Artist

At a very young age, positive praise from my teachers and peers on my artwork gave me confidence to keep on drawing and painting. I started taking art classes at the age of nine. My very first class, at my instance, was in oil painting. Probably because my mom was a want-to-be-artist and I would watch her paint in oils. It was a good experience, but I decided that drawing was more fun and less messy. Later at the Cleveland Institute of Art, oil painting was one of my favorite classes and has become my main painting medium with the dollhouse miniatures. Using watercolor (transparent or opaque) is another painting medium that I like to use when using semi-abstract subject matter such as rocks, stylistic waves, etc. Oil portraits of animals and people have been my greatest challenge as subject matter and at the same time my greatest satisfaction with painting. I also do commissions for house drawings, portraits either animal or human and landscapes in miniature or larger sizes.
